Congrats on Your Engagement...NOW What?

She said, "Yes!" Now, what next?

One week into 2014, and you may have probably have already noticed the monsoon of ring shots on your social media feeds. If not, you might be the one who is posting, and if so, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Many other men and women will be joining you to participate in ENGAGEMENT SEASON!!!! That is, it is the time from December 24th-February 14th where a lot of new engagements take place. So if you are recently engaged, enjoy a few tips.

  1. REMAIN CALM...., but stay EXCITED. Enjoy this time. Enjoy the adolations and euphoria. YES, some of your friends may be jealous of your new found happiness, but that's OK. It's like being on a beach in the Florida Keys for your birthday, just bask and take in all of that sunshine.
  2. CHOOSE A DATE. Choose a date that is not only convenient but also meaningful to you. Whether it is the day you first met, or of your first date, or just one that you feel will be special to the two of you. Many couples choose a date that allows for sufficient planning and saving, so keep some of those factors in mind.
  3. FIND A GREAT PLANNER. I can't stress this enough. A wedding planner these days is not a luxury but almost a necessity. Unless you will be getting married via the courthouse or Justice of the Peace, even the smallest ceremonies will require some forethought and coordination. Often the couples who think they can't afford one, or do not need one, are the ones that need them the most, so find one that you can trust and start building that relationship.

Congrats once again, and I hope these few tips help. Stay tuned for my blog on how to have an awesome engagement photo session! In the mean time, what are some tips you would like to share with newly engaged couples? Please leave comments below.
